Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium

Sharing research is as important as doing research! Each year 150-200 GT students present their research on campus at the Annual Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium (April 11th). This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience presenting in a professional setting and to collaborate and garner feedback from peers and faculty, not to mention the awarding of prizes! Submit your abstract at http://www.urop.gatech.edu/spring-symposium. Deadline for abstract submission is March 5, 2013.

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) Program

The Kellogg School of Science and Technology invites applications from students who are interested in its ten-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF) Program; a program provides its participants the opportunity to perform cutting-edge research in one of our laboratories side by side with our world-renowned faculty.
The goals of the program are to (1) increase the number of underrepresented and first-generation to college students who consider careers in biomedical research; (2) make program participants feel comfortable in a lab setting and increase their research skills; (3) teach participants to think critically about the theory and application of biomedical research; and (4) increase the participants’ proficiency in communicating scientific concepts.
Students can choose to apply to either the La Jolla campus in California or the Jupiter campus in Florida with one application. Apply here.
Program Dates
June 10 - August 16, 2013 (ten weeks)
Start and end dates are flexible and can be adjusted based on the participant's schedule; however, participants must complete ten-weeks.
